Another thoughtful touch is that the cabinets come fitted with a foam pad on their base to decouple them from whatever surface they are standing on. I will be sure to always reference off many other sound systems as well. I also did watch a youtube vid comparing the HS80M to the Rokit 8s and even through youtube the HS80M sounded better to my ears. No matter what cables you are using, you'll find a way into the RP8s as they offer connection via XLR, 1/4-inch jack and RCA phono. Although I think I will go with the Yamaha HS80M since I can get a great deal and from the overwhelming amount of recommendations.
